We are thrilled to announce an exciting 12-month internship opportunity for a university graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the shipping industry.
Our internship program is designed to provide invaluable experience and mentorship from seasoned industry professionals. The focus will be on post fixture invoicing, particularly on freight invoicing and laytime. The intern will also have the chance to gain exposure to various departments within our organisation.
The position will be located in our office in Limassol, Cyprus.
Take on a crucial role in NORDEN’s performance
As a Freight and Laytime Intern you will get to use your stakeholder management skills, internally and externally, and practice best-in-class service which are important drivers in the NORDEN mindset.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Calculating, preparing, and invoicing freight, demurrage, and operational claims arising out of contracts with oil majors, dry bulk charterers, and trading companies in accordance with contract terms.
- Investigating and analysing facts and data gathered from operators, vessels, port agents, surveyors, and charterers.
- Ensuring strict adherence to various contractual time bar clauses - invoicing on time and gathering all supporting documents.
- Dispute handling and communication via e-mail, phone, and face-to-face meetings for prompt settlement of disputes.
- Developing and maintaining commercial relationships with customers.
- Closely collaborating with other departments within the organisation, such as Chartering, Operations, and Accounting to optimise efficiency, increase claims earnings and ensure maximized cash flow.

- You hold a university degree, ideally from a Shipping background.
- You hold extensive English communication skills.
