The position as our future Freight and Laytime Specialist will be located in our office in Limassol, Cyprus.

Take on a crucial role in NORDEN’s performance
As a Freight and Laytime Specialist you will get to use your stakeholder management skills, internally and externally, and practice best-in-class service which are important drivers in the NORDEN mindset.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Calculating, preparing, and invoicing freight, demurrage, and operational claims arising out of contracts with oil majors, dry bulk charterers, and trading companies in accordance with contract terms.

  • Investigating and analysing facts and data gathered from operators, vessels, port agents, surveyors, and charterers.

  • Ensuring strict adherence to various contractual time bar clauses - invoicing on time and gathering all supporting documents.

  • Dispute handling and communication via e-mail, phone, and face-to-face meetings for prompt settlement of disputes.

  • Developing and maintaining commercial relationships with customers.

  • Closely collaborating with other departments within the organisation, such as Chartering, Operations, and Accounting to optimise efficiency, increase claims earnings and ensure maximized cash flow.

  • You have previous experience from a similar claims handling position.

  • You hold extensive English communication skills.

  • You have good time management skills.
