When you visit www.norientpool.com or one of its pages, you will automatically download one or more cookies. You can choose to prevent doing so – go to: http://minecookies.org/cookiehandtering (in Danish) for instructions on how to avoid (wholly or partially) receiving cookies and deleting cookies that may be on your hard disk.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file which is saved in your web browser, and recognised by the website when you return, making it possible to send individualised information to your browser. A cookie can contain text, number or other items such as a date, but does not contain or save personal data. It is not a programe, and cannot contain a virus.
How long are cookies kept on your computer?
A cookie’s lifetime can vary depending on the parameters defined by the provider. Some cookies disappear as soon as you close the browser window, others can exist for several years. Many providers usually use a 12 or 24 month lifetime for their advertising, statistics and content-related cookies. Please note that their lifetime can be extended after each visit, up to another 24 months for example, when you visit a site again. You can delete cookies on your computer at any time. See how by clicking here: http://minecookies.org/cookiehandtering (in Danish).
How can I avoid cookies?
If you do not want to receive cookies, you can block all cookies, delete existing cookies on your hard disk or receive notification before a cookie is saved. Click http://minecookies.org/cookiehandtering (in Danish) for instructions on how to set up your browser. You can always use the Help function for your browser for more information on cookie settings. In most cases, press F1 on your keyboard and search for "cookies".
Which cookies does the Norient Product Pool website use?
We differentiate between cookies which disappear when you close your browser (sessions cookies), or are saved on your computer (persistent cookies).
We also differentiate between whether the cookie was sent by www.norientpool.com (first party cookies) or one of our associates – usually Google Analytics (third party cookies). You can adjust the settings on most computers to determine which cookies can be saved on your computer.
We only use persistent cookies to enhance your visit to www.norientpool.com as much as possible. We use the data gathered to track behavioral patterns for the use of our website. Session cookies disappear when you leave www.norientpool.com
Norient Product Pool makes use of the following first party cookies
is Norient Product Pool's website’s own cookie. It is a session cookie, which survives until you close your browser. We use the Apache cookie to save user settings on the server page. Only relevant for editors of Norient Product Pool's website.
When a visitor to Norient Product Pool's website accepts cookies, this cookie will be set to inform us that the visitor has accepted cookies.
Norient Product Pool makes use of the following third party cookies
This is what is called a persistent cookie, which means that it never expires (or at least not for a very long time). It tracks how many times a visitor visits the site, the date of the first visit and when the visitor was last on the site. You cannot be identified via this cookie.
_utmb and _utmc cookies
These two cookies are a pair and are used for calculating how long a visitor was on the site. _utmb expires automatically when the session ends, whilst _utmc waits 30 minutes before also expiring. A cookie does not know when you leave a website or close your browser, and therefore waits to see if other pages are viewed. If nothing happens within 30 minutes, it expires.
This cookie keeps track of where visitors come from – i.e. which search machine they used, and what they were searching on. This is interesting to NORDEN as we can use the information to make our website better and more user-friendly. Such a cookie usually lives for 12 hours.
