Dampskibsselskabet "NORDEN" A/S is an independent shipping company incorporated in Denmark and listed on OMX Nordic Exchange Copenhagen A/S. NORDEN was founded in 1871, making it one of Denmark’s oldest internationally operating shipping companies. NORDEN operates in dry cargo and tankers worldwide.
NORDEN’s fleet is among the most modern and competitive in the industry and NORDEN operates in total about 225 dry cargo- and tanker vessels (a mix of owned and chartered tonnage). In addition NORDEN has an extensive newbuilding programme and has in total about 85 vessels on order.
NORDEN has its head office in Copenhagen and offices in Singapore, Shanghai, Annapolis, Rio de Janeiro and Mumbai. At its offices NORDEN has in total 205 employees and about 300 are employed on the Company’s owned vessels.
NORDEN was a founding member of the Danish Shipowners' Association in 1884 and has since been a member. Furthermore NORDEN is a member of the international organisations; Intertanko (The International Association of Independent Tanker Owners), BIMCO (The Baltic and International Maritime Council) and ICC Denmark (International Chamber of Commerce).
Interorient is a fast growing global provider of marine transportation services. Headquartered in Cyprus, Interorient has offices in Hamburg, Miami, Manila, Odessa, Riga and St. Petersburg and employs over 300 shore-based employees and over 3000 well-trained and experienced seafarers.
Interorient's in-house managed fleet takes advantage of the many years of experience and expertise that the company's management team has acquired in the global shipping industry. The company places great emphasis on sustainable crewing focusing on the education and training of its officers and ratings and the company's own in house training simulator has proved an invaluable tool.
Interorient is a founding member of the Cyprus Shipping Council and has played a leading role in Cyprus' emergence as a global shipping centre. Interorient is also a founding member of the Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Organisation (CYMEPA) as well as an active member of industry organisations such as BIMCO, Intertanko and Intercargo.
The company is certificated against the ISO standards for quality and environmental management.
